Peak Producers – who are they and how does it work?
For the third year in a row, Rachel Buller (Broker/Owner of Manitou Springs Real Estate) has obtained the status of Peak Producer – and it’s a big deal!
What exactly is a “Peak Producer”?
Simply stated, Peak Producers are local Realtors in the top 10% of their field – based on volume of listing and sale transactions.
The Peak Producer’s website explains:
“The Peak Producers [program] was established to provide home buyers and home sellers in El Paso county, Teller county and surrounding areas a source for proven, dependable real estate services. You can trust The Peak Producers because each real estate agent has a proven track record of sustained quality service and professionalism. Each real estate agent has also met the tough qualifications of The Peak Producers certification board. The Peak Producers is not a general directory that anyone can register or pay to enter. Recipients of The Peak Producers designation must pass a rigorous evaluation.”

According to statistics from the Pikes Peak Multiple Listing Service (PPMLS) there were 3,274 active real estate agents in the Colorado Springs (and Teller County) area in 2016. That number is 293 more than the previous year and almost 38% more than three years ago.
The increasing number of Realtors in our region means more competition, but it doesn’t necessarily translate into more competency or dedication. Peak Producers – the top 10% of agents – each closed a minimum of 26 transactions in the year 2016. Whereas the number of transactions closed by all other agents was less than half that: 11 transactions on average. In fact, of the 3,275 agents in the Pikes Peak region last year, 1,409 of them (43%) closed only 3 deals or less last year. 12.2% of those did not close any transactions.
